How to cook manic in the oven on sour cream

Mannik on sour cream - this is the case when you want something sweet, and laziness to bother with virtuoso pastries or just once, manic on sour cream will come to the rescue. Why exactly on sour cream? In principle, manna can be baked using any dairy product, from kefir and yogurt (of course, natural) to yogurt and sour cream. But it’s precisely on sour cream that mannik turns out to be especially crumbly.

In the preparation of manna on sour cream there are no special tricks. Just a few ingredients - semolina, sour cream, a couple of eggs and a handful of flour with a baking powder, that's all for a short time. But, like any other recipe, the manna recipe can be modified by increasing or decreasing the number of certain ingredients, adding all kinds of products that turn an ordinary cake into a work of culinary art. Mannik on sour cream can be cooked without flour or without eggs, thereby reducing its calorie content (although, in truth, getting involved in this dessert is still not worth it without measure). If you put nuts, dried fruits or berries in the dough for manna, you will get healthy and tasty pastries, which are not a shame for guests to offer.

The principle of cooking manna on sour cream is the same. The only difference between some recipes from each other is the soaking time of the semolina before baking. Some housewives like the crunch of grains in the finished baking, and they knead the dough immediately before baking. Others do not accept this - and stand the semolina in sour cream for several hours, and sometimes soak the semolina for the night. Here, as they say, a matter of taste. So, a step by step recipe for manna on sour cream:

Break three eggs into a deep bowl, add a pinch of salt, sugar and vanilla sugar if you add it. The third egg in the photo was hidden behind sugar :)

Stir with a fork or whisk, there is no need to whip strongly, so I never use a mixer in this recipe. However, with a strong desire, you can beat in it at low speed :)

Now let's talk about sour cream.
You can take sour cream of any fat content that is at your fingertips, depending on this, the amount of semolina will vary slightly.

The fatter the sour cream, the less semolina will be needed and, accordingly, the set.

Sour cream can be used not the first freshness, even if it is a little stale in the refrigerator)

After all, sometimes each of us probably forgets about some product, and the question arises, what to do. And here is the answer, what to cook from overdue sour cream.

But if you never spoil anything or you throw away a spoiled product right away - you have not read this,)

Add sour cream and mix.

Some soak semolina in sour cream or another sour-milk product, but personally I don’t see any need for it: without these procedures, the cake turns out to be just perfect.

Mix semolina with baking powder, add to the dough and mix again.

If you use soda, add it at the end: quench 1/2 teaspoon of soda, pour into the dough, mix quickly and immediately send to the oven.

And the most important thing: how much add decoys? First, add 200 grams (about one glass), mix and look at the consistency of the dough.

The dough should be quite thick, about like a pancake. If it turned out to be liquid, then add semolina over a tablespoon, achieving the desired density.

Pour the finished dough into any shape (I have 28cm), oiled with butter and / or covered with baking paper.

We bake manna in a preheated oven at 180 degrees 30-45 minutes, depending on your oven.

Cover the mold with foil and the cake will not burn even in the “original” oven,)

After 30 minutes, pierce the cake in the middle with a wooden skewer or a toothpick: if the skewer is dry, the manna is ready!
If the dough remains on the skewer, leave for another five minutes, after which we repeat the procedure.

I love mannick with condensed milk - it seems to me that they are perfectly made for each other :)
You can pour it on top or smear it inside, or you can do it both ways.

Mannick goes well with jam and jam, any berries and some fruits, such as bananas.

Tell us in the comments, why do you like to serve manic?

I can’t wait to enjoy the taste I love since childhood, so I go to drink tea and wish you a pleasant appetite!

Tips & Tricks

During cooking, it is very important to learn by trial and error. Sometimes your manna may burn due to the fact that the temperature sensor shows an incorrect temperature mode - the next time you should set the adjustment lever to a slightly lower indicator.

Also, the cause of burning can be a poorly lubricated surface of the baking dish - be more careful.

Do not be afraid to experiment with the recipe: you can slightly change the proportions to achieve the desired effect. For example, if you increase the proportion of eggs, the cake will look like a biscuit, and if you put more sour cream, it will be more tender and soft.

Such a sweetness as mannick loves all sorts of additives - raisins, dried fruits, just fruit slices or candied fruits. Knead them in the dough immediately before baking. You can also decorate the cake before serving with powdered sugar or berries.

How to cook manna on sour cream

The original recipe can be modified by adding fruits, berries, almonds or greek nuts to the ingredients. Mannik is especially tasty with apples or cherries, as they give sweet pastries a pleasant sourness.

  2. Beat eggs and sugar.
  3. Sift the flour. Add it with soda to the egg mass, then introduce the swollen semolina in small portions.
  4. Add vanillin. Mix.

Cook ½ hour at 200 ° C. Readiness can be checked with a toothpick: when piercing the dough, it should remain dry. Cool the cake and garnish with fruit slices or berries.

Cooking manna on sour cream in the oven according to the classic step-by-step recipe

Kitchen tools

So that cooking manna does not take you too much free time, it is better to prepare all the necessary kitchen utensils and tools ahead of time:

  • a cake mold (preferably regular round) with a diameter of 24 cm,
  • several bowls (deep) with a capacity of 420 ml,
  • cutlery (knives, forks, spoons),
  • cotton and paper towels,
  • kitchen scale or ordinary measuring cup,
  • potholders and a wooden spatula.

In addition, keep a food processor with attachments or a hand blender ready to prepare pie components even faster.

You will need

Semolina1 cup
Sour cream1 cup
Granulated sugar1 cup
Chicken egg2 pcs.
Baking soda2 g
Sunflower oil10 ml
Strawberry50-70 g

How to choose the right ingredients

The cake will turn out even tastier if you pay close attention to the ingredients that make up its base.

  • Try to choose sour cream with a high fat content - at least 20%. A more watery ingredient will make your cake too crumbly, even brittle.
  • Semolina should be fresh and of high quality - if it has been stored in open packaging for a long time, it should not be used to prepare this pie.

Cooking sequence

  1. Pour the eggs into a deep bowl and mix them a little.

Pour semolina and mix lightly, here you can use a blender.

mix until we get a homogeneous mass.

After pour sugar

and stir the dough until its grains dissolve. For this purpose, a food processor or hand blender is suitable.

We spread the berries and baking soda, carefully mix the components in the dough.

Thoroughly coat the cake pan with sunflower oil.

Pour dough into it and carefully level the surface with a spatula.

We heat the oven to 150 degrees and bake the product for about 15-20 minutes.

How to decorate such a cake

In itself, the product turns out to be very attractive and fragrant, so most likely you should not take care of its additional design. However, if there is such a desire, you can decorate baked goods in several simple ways to make it even more appetizing in appearance.

  • Carefully grease the surface of the cake with condensed milk (you can also boil it) and place the confectionery powder on it - it is sold in any stores and looks like stars, hearts or other figures. Children really like these jewelry; they stimulate appetite very well.
  • Also, the cake can be smeared with honey or sweet syrup, and then put in the refrigerator for a couple of hours to freeze the decoration.
  • A simple sour cream, consisting of two parts of sour cream, whipped with a portion of icing sugar, will also make your pastries look just perfect.

How to diversify a standard recipe

I’ve never heard of a hostess who wouldn’t like baking experiments: we constantly add other ingredients to the classic recipe to more clearly express the taste of the product. I suggest familiarizing yourself with some of my developments below.

  • Indescribable beauty and interesting taste to any manna are given by finely chopped candied fruits, marmalade, crushed nuts or steamed raisins. Add these ingredients in a small amount (no more than a teaspoon) in the final stage of kneading.
  • If you do not have berries, it does not matter - you can make a pie without any filler at all. Also, instead of berries, raisins or prunes, dried apricots and dates are perfect.
  • Many cook a delicious manna on sour cream without adding eggs, which can be replaced with one glass of kefir. Such a product will turn out to be more crumbly and aromatic, but will require more time for baking.
